About Us

Schuylkill County School Employees Credit Union was founded in 1953 by a small group of local educators to serve the unique financial needs of people like themselves and those of their families at both public and private schools and their associations within Schuylkill County. Since that time, SCSECU has grown to over $90 million in assets and serves over 9,500 members. In recent years SCSECU has welcomed additional members by accepting a number of new select Employer Groups (SEGs) within Schuylkill County that apply and are approved for membership in the credit union. Additional growth has also occurred with the addition of a number of credit union merger acquisitions. In 2008 the credit union membership voted to change the name of the credit union to Hidden River Credit Union.

Becoming a member of Hidden River Credit Union is easy! All you need is to be an individual eligible for membership as defined by the credi union's Field of Membership as it is explained within the Membership Section of this site below. Then just apply at any one of our branch locations or through your employer, by phone or over the internet. Once your eligibility status has been verified and a new account signature card has been completed, your new account and member benefits can begin. There is a $1 non-refundable new account fee, and you must maintain a minimum of $5 in your new share savings account in order to remain active and be eligible for other credit union services, but that's it; you're a member! Remember too, once you're a member, you'll always be a member even if you leave your current employer or move out of the county. Immediate family members are also eligible for membership. Apply Today!
