History
Hidden River Credit Union formly known as Schuylkill County School Employees Credit Union was founded in 1953 by a small group of local educators to serve the unique financial needs of people like themselves and those of their families at both public and private schools and their associations within Schuylkill County. Since that time, SCSECU had welcomed additional members by accepting a number of new select Employer Groups (SEGs) within Schuylkill County. Additional growth had also occurred with the addition of a number of credit union merger acquisitions. In 2008 the credit union membership voted to change the name of the credit union to Hidden River Credit Union.
Effective May 2, 2011 Hidden River Credit Union requested and was granted a community charter, the credit union is now open to anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school within Schuylkill County and business and other legal entities located within the county. Hidden River Credit Union has grown to over $110 million in assets and now serves over 10,000 members. As the credit union continues to grow those same core values the founders envisioned over 50 years ago will remain the primary mission of HRCU.
